Here at Easy Pack Haylage we believe that natural fibre is the key to a healthy digestive system and so a healthy horse/pony. The horse is a herbivore and has evolved to spend long periods of time eating vegetation that has a relatively low nutritional value. Without adequate fibre, the horse's digestive system doesn't function properly it loses the ability to move food particles efficiently through the gut, and its ability to conserve water and electrolytes is also compromised. Without fibre in the system, high-carbohydrate feeds tend to "pack" in the gut as well. The result is a horse at risk for dehydration, colic, and laminitis (not to mention stable vices like cribbing and wood-chewing, which often develop when a horse's fundamental urge to chew is not satisfied). All our products are dust extracted as part of the packaging process.
We have our haylage and hay analysed each harvest by an independent company Forage Plus (http://www.forageplus.co.uk). We take the quality of our product very seriously, our Timothy hay and pellets are one of the lowest sugar product on the equestrian market. More than 3 horses? Travel to competitions?
If you have several horses and storage space it may be better for you to consider our Big Bale options. They are made from the same quality grasses and crops used in our small pack bales so you can be assured of good quality products. The feed when you travel to events is so important in order for your horse to perform at its best so if you use big bale at your yard you can buy the small packs to take to competitions for convenience and continuity.
